Just finished. So good.

oh, the bus

When I first turned my computer on, I was ready to write an angry piece about riding the bus. A kind of woe is me type of post. Then I stopped and remembered that 1) yesterday was Earth day and I should be encouraging public transportation and 2) I don’t want to walk to work. There are so many good qualities about the UTA buses in Salt Lake City, but sometimes it just plain sucks. Today on my ride home I saw not 1 but 2 people fall on their faces while trying to maneuver to a seat while the bus driver gunned it. I think the bus was running 3 minutes late but c’mon, it’s nerve wracking enought to climb into the bus with everyone looking at you while you try to find a seat; when none are available, playing the mental game of ‘who looks the less weird/smelly/threatening’. My tips for those who are nervous to ride the bus: wear headphones if you don’t want to talk to people; if you don’t know where your stop is ask the driver, they should/will know; even though it’s tempting don’t take the first front seat you see because it’ll be awkward if a handicapped person gets on and you need to move. Also, people are most likely not looking at you, it may seem like it but there is very little to look at on a bus so sometimes the window next to your head is where they’ll stare. If you’re ever in Salt Lake City I encourage you to use UTA trax or busses, compared to most places we have it pretty good, plus there’s a free fare zone downtown ;)

Catching Up

Hello, I will resume posting this week. Here’s a little update of what’s been happening:

1) On my birthday the first legal drink I ordered was a Malibu Hurricane. It was delicious and coconuty

2) I started my new old job this week. (I started back at my old job) which isn’t the best but at least I’ll be making $

3) I felt surprisingly guilty yesterday for throwing my banana peel on the ground at the bus stop (but there were no trash cans around!)

4) I have still not managed to sew more than two straight lines and learned that I use the pedal as badly as a gas pedal >_<

5) I ordered my dog some old man joint supplements which makes me want to cry. He’s still my baby

6) I contacted a bunch of places looking to volunteer and have only heard back from one

7) I’ve been reading a lot

7) I’ve been addicted to these songs:

Birthday

I’m 21 bitches!
